Creation

I can’t wait to see Creation which is set to release in the US in a couple of weeks. It’s the story of Charles Darwin and the reactions of those closest to him, including his religious wife.  Fortunately his wife is played by the delightful Jennifer Connelly which will make dragging my boyfriend to it effortless.

Monster Line-Up

I’m having a hard time getting into my usual happy Halloween frenzy. Maybe some Halloweeny posts will help.

I’m sure some movie geek out there can comment on how accurate this chart is. I have no idea. What I do know is that it’s a totally sweet idea! If you’re really wild about the design, you can get it on your very own shirt, here.

Karen O, Kids and Beasts

Karen O is having an incredible year. The Yeah Yeah Yeah’s latest album, It’s Blitz! is one of the best albums of 2009, in my opinion. As if that’s not enough, Karen O is the voice and  energy behind the Where the Wild Things Are soundtrack. It’s fantastic! I love that they opted for the genuine, unpolished voices of untrained children.

Here’s a cool clip of the making of the soundtrack. The movie is due out tomorrow!

The Age of Stupid

The Age of Stupid is a new docu-drama set in the future (2055) after climate change has done great damage to humanity. The main character (Pete Postlethwaite) is a historian who looks back at footage from 2008 and wonders why we didn’t stop climate change while we still had a chance.

The film is premiering world-wide on Monday (Sept 21), for one night only, with the hopes of breaking the Guinness World Record for the biggest simultaneous film screening.

After the film, a live feed from a premier in New York will feature a performance from Thom Yorke (Radiohead) and comments from Kofi Annan (Nobel Peace Prize) and James Hansen (environmental scientist).

You can buy tickets for the Salt Lake screening here. It plays at Century 16 Theater at 5:30pm.

I’ve already got tickets, so see you there!

Below is a trailer and a short news clip.

RAD – Send Me an Angel

Today I passed by a co-worker’s desk who was listening to “Send Me an Angel” by Real Life which instantly reminds me of the 80’s BMX movie, Rad. When I was a wee lass I thought this was the frog’s pajamas. It’s pretty funny now. Oh how I wanted to be Lori Loughlin! I had the big hair but was a little light on the sweet bike moves.
